Zae France Finds His Sweet Spot on FINAL SAY
There’s something to be said about an artist who knows exactly where they fit without becoming too comfortable there. On FINAL SAY, Zae France sounds like someone who has spent enough time developing his sound to understand what works for him, while still finding ways to push it forward. The album doesn’t demand your attention with oversized production or moments that feel designed specifically to go viral. Instead, it gradually pulls you in through melody, songwriting, atmosphere, and Zae’s ability to make even the simplest moments feel worth returning to.
The more time I spent with FINAL SAY, the more I appreciated that approach.
One of Zae France’s greatest strengths has always been how effortless he sounds vocally. There’s an ease to his delivery throughout this project that makes the music feel natural rather than overly polished. He isn’t approaching every record like he has something to prove. He knows when to lean into his vocals, when to fall back into the production, and when a melody is strong enough to carry the moment on its own.
That confidence becomes especially important because so much of FINAL SAY lives within conversations surrounding romance, sex, attraction, vulnerability, and the gray areas that exist between all of them. These aren’t necessarily unfamiliar subjects within R&B, but Zae’s personality keeps them from feeling like recycled ideas. He has a way of delivering certain lines and melodies that makes you believe exactly where he is emotionally in that moment.
The production gives him plenty of space to explore those different sides of himself. Contemporary R&B remains at the center of the album, but melodic trap elements are woven throughout the project in a way that feels natural for him. There’s warmth in some places, more edge in others, and enough variation to keep the album moving without making it feel like Zae is experimenting simply for the sake of experimentation.
And that may be one of my favorite things about FINAL SAY. Growth doesn’t always require completely abandoning what people already love about you.
Sometimes the next step is simply understanding your strengths better.
The songwriting reflects that same mentality. Zae doesn’t make these records unnecessarily complicated. He understands the value of a strong hook, a memorable melody, and lyrics that people can immediately attach their own experiences to. Throughout the album, he moves between wanting someone, enjoying someone, questioning a connection, and allowing himself to be vulnerable enough to admit when feelings have become deeper than expected.
Standout tracks
My standouts quickly became “BAEWATCH,” “LEAVE IT IN,” “BEVERLY DRIVE,” “OMW” featuring London Monét, “SEX IN FRANCE,” and “RAX.” What I love about this group of songs is that they don’t all accomplish the same thing. Each record brings another side of Zae into the conversation, whether it’s sensuality, confidence, romance, or simply his ability to create a melody that stays in your head long after the song ends.
“OMW” is especially enjoyable because London Monét adds another texture to the album without disrupting the world Zae has already created. Meanwhile, songs like “BAEWATCH,” “SEX IN FRANCE,” and “RAX” showcase how naturally he can operate within that seductive side of R&B while still maintaining his own identity.
By the time FINAL SAY ends, what stands out most isn’t one massive centerpiece or a dramatic reinvention of Zae France. It’s how sure of himself he sounds.
There’s a difference between becoming comfortable as an artist and becoming stagnant, and FINAL SAY never feels like the latter. Zae seems increasingly aware of what makes his music connect, and instead of running away from those qualities, he continues sharpening them. The melodies are stronger, his presence feels more confident, and the album gives listeners several different versions of him without losing sight of the artist at the center of it all.
That makes FINAL SAY a strong addition to his catalog and another reminder of why Zae France continues to be someone worth paying attention to within R&B. It’s smooth, replayable, sensual when it needs to be, and emotionally open when the moment calls for something deeper.
More than anything, it sounds like Zae France trusting his own instincts.
And sometimes having the FINAL SAY simply means knowing exactly who you are.
